Tailoring Care

Our specialism is the care of bespoke and high-quality tailoring. Years of working directly with the bespoke houses of Savile Row have given us a familiarity with these garments that is difficult to acquire elsewhere. We understand how they are built, what they are made from, and what they require to remain at their best.

The foundation of what we do is the sponge and press — a hand process that cleans, refreshes, and restores the three-dimensional shape of a tailored jacket. Where a dry cleaner works with chemicals and machinery, we work by hand. The result is a suit that looks as the tailor intended: the chest full, the lapel rolling, the trouser crease defined.

Pressing and Cleaning

A sponge and press will address most of what a well-worn suit requires: light soiling, loss of shape, and the general flatness that comes with regular wear. For heavier cleaning — ingrained dirt, staining, or garments that have not been attended to in some time — we offer a more thorough process, assessed individually.

Alterations and Repairs

We carry out alterations and repairs to tailoring of all kinds. Whether a jacket requires taking in, a waistband needs adjusting, or a lining has come away, we are glad to look over garments and advise on what is possible. Where work falls outside our scope, we will say so honestly.

Knitwear

We care for fine knitwear — cashmere, merino, and lambswool — by hand, using methods appropriate to the fabric. Blocking and reshaping is available for garments that have lost their form.

Shoe Care

We polish, clean, and restore quality shoes and boots using Saphir products — the same range we stock and recommend for at-home care. Work is done by hand and assessed individually; the finish we aim for is one that reflects the quality of the shoe, not one that obscures it.

Resoling and structural repairs are referred to trusted cobblers we work with directly.
