Tailoring Care
Our specialism is the care of bespoke and high-quality tailoring. Years of working directly with the bespoke houses of Savile Row have given us a familiarity with these garments that is difficult to acquire elsewhere. We understand how they are built, what they are made from, and what they require to remain at their best.
The foundation of what we do is the sponge and press: A hand process that cleans, refreshes, and restores the three-dimensional shape of a tailored jacket. The result is a suit that looks as the tailor intended: the chest full, the lapel rolling, the trouser crease defined.
Good Look Over
When a jacket or pair of trousers come in for our attention, we start with a GLO: Good Look Over. We will search for stains or moth damage that would suggest a dry clean is needed in advance of a hand press, and we would check for any repairs. Frequently that will be where the hand-sewing around the lining of the armhole has come undone, or buttons that may be loose. We will check seams, pocket bags and hems, and run through a series of checks based on our experience.
Having flagged any issues, we can add those to your order or simply bring them to your attention as potential future issues to keep an eye on.
Shoe Polishing and Repair
We polish, clean, and restore quality shoes using Saphir products — the same range we stock and recommend for at-home care. Work is done by hand and assessed individually; the finish we aim for is one that reflects the quality of the shoe, not one that obscures it. Our repairs service ranges from taking care of small issues such as reheeling or lining patches, to full resoles with hidden stitching (sometimes known as closed channel resoling).
