The Valet has served the bespoke tailoring houses of Savile Row for over twenty years. Almost all of the Row relies on us for hand pressing, finishing, and related work — a relationship built on discretion, consistency, and an understanding of what bespoke tailoring requires.

We work with both established tailoring houses and independent tailors and shoemakers. If your clients wear the kind of clothes we care for, we should be in touch.

What We Offer the Trade

Hand Pressing and Finishing

Our core service. We press bespoke tailoring by hand — sculpting the chest, rolling the lapel, defining the trouser crease. Garments are assessed individually; no two suits are pressed the same way. Tailoring houses on Savile Row walk work to us several times each day.

Buttonholes

We cut and finish hand-worked buttonholes to the standard bespoke tailoring requires. Available as a standalone service or as part of a finishing package.

Alterations

We carry out alterations to finished tailoring when required, working to the specification of the tailor or client. Where work involves remaking or substantial recutting, we will advise on what is achievable.

The Atelier

Our fitting and consultation room at Brooks Mews is available to bespoke tailors and shoemakers who wish to see clients in Mayfair. The room is well-appointed, with a full-length mirror and a selection of cloth bunches. It is well-suited to visiting brands conducting fittings with London clients, or to independent tailors who do not yet have a London base.

Trunk Show Support

We provide logistical support for bespoke trunk shows in London: co-ordination, pressing of display garments, and access to The Atelier for client appointments. We also run Bespoke Trunk Shows, a dedicated calendar and resource for the industry.
